Marbella
The centrepiece of the Costa del Sol, a year-round coastline of villas, golf and the original Golden Mile.
About the place
The most lived-in stretch of the Costa del Sol.
Marbella has been Europe's southern reference point for a particular kind of life since the 1950s. Sun, slow afternoons, golf, and a quietly international cast of residents who built their houses into its hills and along its beaches. The Golden Mile, between the centre and Puerto Banús, is the historic spine of the luxury market. Sierra Blanca, La Zagaleta and Nagüeles fan out into the foothills behind. East of the town, Los Monteros and Río Real run along quieter beachfront. For international buyers the appeal sits in 320 days of sunshine, two airports inside an hour, and a community used to receiving foreign residents for three generations.
